Dwight Walton commissioned this sculpture fifteen years ago from an artist whose name he never even knew. He's in the recycling business, and while on a trip in southern Mississippi he was talking to the owner of a welding shop, idly describing a piece he wanted made. They struck a price and the guy built it for him out of tractor parts.
He named the piece "Dino the Scrap-o-saurus," and took it to recycling trade shows in the course of his business until about four years ago when it was retired to its present location in front of Custom Briquetting Systems on highway 367 in Searcy.
Once again we see dinosaurs are a favorite subject for roadside art. This one has been field dressed. Also ornaments a mailbox.
