This big fiberglass bear sculpture was obtained from the liquidation of assets from the Bakkers' theme park, Heritage U.S.A. The bear now stands in War Memorial Park, in a cluster of fiberglass animals next to an historic merry-go-round. There'll be a story on the merry-go-round when the restoration is completed in a couple of years.
This oversized fiberglass bison came from the same source at the same time. It now stands in Burns Park in North Little Rock. Incidentally, Burns Park covers almost 1600 acres. It's one of the largest city parks in the United States, according to "The Roads of Arkansas," (Shearer ,1990).
