The lovely J.J. of the St. Francis County Museum shows off her giant clam. This fossil clam was found in 1995 by Ruby Harper. She stubbed her toe on the corner of it while she was fishing along the St. Francis River. Several hours later, she and her fishing buddy had dug it out of the river bank. According to J.J., it's the biggest fossil clam shell found this far inland. The matching half was not found. It could have held a pearl the size of a butterball turkey.
